Papermaking with plants

My Sunday workshops are really producing some interesting work. My latest one
had two students experimented with the different fibres with the idea of using
the resulting papers in their own arts practice.

Lucy Cooper, who is currently studying at Camberwell for her MA Visual Arts: Printmaking, sent me this photo. 'Following a theme of memory layering/distorting/blurring - she used the the papers with the chine colle method of printing.'

Bespoke Wedding Gift

New for this year .... what to give a couple for their wedding .... A bespoke gift

Using a selection of the wedding bouquet flowers and greenery I will create a collection of papers using the traditional Japanese style of paper making that can be given as keepsakes in thank-you cards, to use as a back sheet to frame the wedding photographs in frames or to use in the creation of the couples wedding photo album.

In the process to enable the flowers and plant materials to become archival they will loose their colouration. So with the help of photographic documentation (the wedding photos) the paper fibres used to create the collection will be coloured with light safe pigments. The colours of the wedding attire/decor can also be included.

The hand sewn album will include.....
Five 18 x18 cm and twenty  6.5 x 6.5 cm sheets (great for Thank You cards)
All made individually and they all have deckle edges.
All I will require will be a selection of the flowers/greenery from the couple
that have been allowed to dry.
Cost : £120
